Traffic Accidents
Explanation of fields on the Traffic Accidents Web Page:
| Field Name | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Incident Type Code | The data in this field is that actual radio code used by officers and dispatchers to classify calls for service. The code consists of a two digit "ten-code" followed by letters known as classification and response priority identifiers. |
| Incident Type Text | This field is the plain text equivalent of the Incident Type Code listed in the previous column. |
| Time Received | This is also known as Incident Creation Time, or the time in which the call for service was entered into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System by a call-taker or dispatcher. |
| Address | Either the actual street address or two intersecting streets are entered into this field. This field is then validated against the Nashville Street database on the CAD System to determine the proper response zone. |
| Location | This is a free-text field used to help clarify the exact location of a call for service. Typically, this field is used to give a business or residence name, location in relation to the given address (such as in a parking lot or around back) or other similar directional information. Simply it is a means to further explain where an incident is occurring to assist field responders in going directly to the incident. |
| City | This field is used within the department to segment the county for the purpose of differentiating between two or more similiar addresses. The city designations do not follow any political boundaries, with the exception of the incorporated cities within the county. |
