Recruiting Office Opens in Hickory Hollow Mall
Mayor Karl Dean today cut the ribbon officially opening the Metropolitan Police Department's Recruitment Center in Hickory Hollow Mall.The store front office, which is located across from the food court next to Sears, will be periodically staffed by officers prepared to answer questions about the qualifications and benefits of joining the police department. The office will also provide an area for South Precinct officers to conduct roll call and complete paperwork.
"The Metropolitan Government is committed to the safety and economic vitality of the Antioch area, and the opening of a police department satellite office in Hickory Hollow Mall is a very good thing for all concerned," Mayor Dean said.
The satellite office is the product of a partnership discussions between South Precinct Commander Mike Alexander and Hickory Hollow Mall Manager Matt Leiser.
"It is partnerships like this that make the real difference in a community's safety and quality of life," Chief Ronal Serpas said.
