New Officers Graduate
The Metro police department’s officer ranks grew by 46 on July 17, 2008, as the city’s newest police officers graduated from five months of training at a very special standing- room-only event at Tusculum Hills Baptist Church.
Some of our veteran officers had a keen interest in the graduation. Commander Bob Nash’s son, Andrew, Sgt. Marvin Keith’s son-in-law, Caleb Foster, and Officer Crystal Smith’s stepson, Brandon, were among the new Metro officers receiving their badges and taking the oath of office.
The new officers will spend the next five to six months with precinct field training officers before patrolling the streets by themselves.
