
Undercover detectives, assigned to the department’s precincts, charged 107 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 25 people as the result of investigations on Hickory Hollow Parkway, Drummond Drive, Tampa Drive and Lewis Street.
Seized were 58 pounds of marijuana, 22 weapons, four vehicles and $280 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Donelson Pike, Margaret Robertson Drive, and in the J.C. Napier and Tony Sudekum public housing developments. Seized were 9.5 grams of cocaine, 24.5 grams of marijuana, seven various pills, two handguns and $1,247 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 26 persons as the result of investigations on Charlotte Pike, the 1800 block of Jefferson Street, Ireland Street, and 28th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue. Seized were 56.8 grams of marijuana, 97 grams of cocaine, one vehicle and $1,408 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 21 persons as the result of investigations on 21st, 28th, and 33rd Avenues North, Alameda Street, Clifton Avenue, Old Hickory Boulevard, and Indiana Avenue. Seized were 100.7 grams of cocaine, 56.9 grams of marijuana, 107 various pills, three vehicles, four weapons and $2,158 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged 15 persons as the result of investigations in the James Cayce public housing development and on Litton Avenue, Dickerson Pike, and Trinity Lane. Seized were .2 grams of cocaine, 1.6 grams of marijuana and five various pills.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
