Detectives from the South and East Precincts today arrested 19-year-old Stephen Sheppard for robbing two area Walgreens stores this month, one at 1809 Antioch Pike, the other at 3500 Gallatin Pike. In each case, the suspect passed the clerk a robbery note demanding cash.
Detective Rex Davenport received information that Sheppard was involved in a Walgreens robbery and paid a visit to his Nautilus Drive home this morning with Detectives Mike Chastain and Bill Stewart. Sheppard was presented with the facts of both cases and interviewed. He subsequently admitted to robbing both stores.
Sheppard is being held in lieu of $160,000 bond on two counts of robbery. He was convicted last month of misdemeanor theft for stealing from Mapco Express, his former employer.
