17-year-old Alfonso Phillips is charged in Juvenile Court with two counts of attempted criminal homicide after he fired shots last night at two employees outside Hair World at 500 Gallatin Avenue.
The employees confronted Phillips at 6 p.m. after they suspected he stole items from the business. Phillips fired shots at both employees, striking one in the left side of her face and the second in his leg. Both sustained non-life threatening injuries.
East Precinct Officer Dante Wade spotted Phillips a short time later walking on North 16th Street near Ordway Place. He was in possession of a handgun and taken into custody without incident. Witnesses positively identified Phillips, of Spring Branch Drive, as the shooter.
