Undercover detectives, assigned to the department’s precincts, charged 129 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 26 persons this week as a result of investigations on Chimney Top Drive, Harding Place, Bell Road, and Murfreesboro Pike.  Seized were 3.5 ounces of marijuana, 200 ecstasy pills, 20 Xanax pills, one handgun and $628 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 17 persons this week as the result of investigations on Ned Shelton Drive, Park Dale Drive, Lafayette Street, Lewis Street, Murfreesboro Pike, Central Pike, and Briley Parkway.  Seized were 1.1 grams of cocaine and 14 grams of marijuana.

West Precinct detectives charged 24 persons as the result of investigations on the 1800 block of Jefferson Street, the 5600 block of California Avenue, 14th and 28th Avenues North at Charlotte Pike, 19th Avenue North at Pearl Street, and 28th Avenue North at West End Avenue.  Seized were 5.3 pounds of marijuana, 43.6 grams of cocaine, 86 Lortab pills, 51 Xanax pills, 35 OxyContin pills, three weapons and $292 cash.  

North Precinct detectives charged 23 persons as the result of investigations on Welworth Street, Gallatin Pike, Old Matthews Road, Cockrill Street, Trinity Lane, and Buena Vista Pike.  Seized were 142 grams of cocaine, 897 grams of marijuana, five weapons, and $286 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged eleven persons as a result of investigations in the James Cayce public housing development, and on Litton Avenue, Dickerson Pike, and Trinity Lane.  Seized were 126.5 grams of cocaine, 30 Lortab pills and 26.9 grams of marijuana.

Central Precinct detectives charged 28 persons as the result of investigations on Rosa Parks Boulevard, Jefferson Street, Ewing Avenue, Lafayette Street, Elm Street, 6th Avenue South, 5th Avenue South, 4th Avenue South, 2nd Avenue South, Demonbreun Street, and Broadway.  Seized were 87 grams of cocaine, one rifle, and $1,487 cash.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
