
Undercover detectives, assigned to the department’s precincts, charged 125 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 30 people this week as a result of investigations on Hickory Hollow Place, Rains Avenue, Murfreesboro Pike, and Bransford Avenue. Seized were 2.5 grams of cocaine, one pound of marijuana, 54 ecstasy pills, two Xanax pills and two handguns.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 16 persons this week as the result of investigations on Lewis, Claiborne, and Lafayette Streets, 1st Avenue South, Patricia Drive, Murfreesboro Pike, Smith Springs Road, and Old Hickory Boulevard. Seized were 2.3 grams of cocaine, 51 various pills and $436 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 29 persons as the result of investigations on Jefferson Street, Clifton Avenue, 43rd Avenue North, Scholarship Drive, Franklin Road, Old Hickory Boulevard, and 12th Avenue North. Officers seized 38 grams of marijuana, 61 grams of cocaine, 96 Lortab pills, 186 methadone pills, 49 Xanax pills, 34 OxyContin pills, one weapon and $17,781 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 23 persons as the result of investigations on Indiana Avenue, 40th, 49th, and 51st Avenues North, Georgia Avenue, Hickory Street, and Old Hickory Boulevard. Seized were 43.9 grams of cocaine, 578.02 grams of marijuana, 353 various pills, four weapons, two grams of heroin, and $2,975 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged 15 persons as the result of investigations on Litton Avenue, the James Cayce public housing development, Dickerson Pike, and Trinity Lane. Seized were three grams of cocaine, five ounces of marijuana and six Lortab pills.
Central Precinct detectives charged 12 persons as the result of investigations on Stokers Lane, Peabody Street, 5th Avenue South, Rosa Parks Boulevard, Jefferson Street, Garfield Street, and Delta Avenue. Seized were 13 weapons, 290 various pills, 14 grams of marijuana, 14 grams of cocaine, and $24,839 cash.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
