Detectives have charged a third person in connection with last week’s series of street robberies in the lower East Nashville area.

Richard Michael Wilson, 19, of South 9th Street, who was being sought for questioning, came to the East Precinct with his father late Saturday night and, during an interview, implicated himself in the April 24th carjacking of a woman on Mansfield Court. Wilson was booked early Sunday on a charge of carjacking and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond. Additional charges against him are anticipated as the investigation continues.

Also charged are two of Wilson’s alleged co-defendants. Danzel Richardson, 16, was arrested Friday night at his Meridian Street home. He is being held at juvenile detention on charges of carjacking, unlawful gun possession, and drug possession. Joshua Gooch, 18, of Stockell Street, was apprehended early Saturday at Shelby Avenue and 10th Street. He is being held in lieu of $420,000 bail on four counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of attempted especially aggravated robbery, and one count of auto theft. Additional charges against Richardson and Gooch are also anticipated.
