Sex Crimes detectives yesterday arrested a registered sex offender who photographed images of nude children from a computer at the downtown Nashville library on Church Street.
A library employee saw Darrell Weidman, 41, taking the pictures with his cell phone. He immediately notified library security who called police. Weidman admitted he photographed the image of a child from the computer screen.
Weidman, who is homeless, is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor. Additional charges are anticipated. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.
Weidman, who had been in compliance with the registry, was convicted in Florida in 2000 for possession of child pornography.
