A final survey of the land around the I-40/Briley Parkway interchange resulted in the discovery of additional undetonated explosive cartridges and blasting caps. A total of 13 unexploded cartridges were recovered from the area today along with five unfired blasting caps.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office will pursue any enforcement action against Civil Constructors, the company that placed the cartridges as part of an interstate construction project that was completed nearly two years ago.
