East Precinct detectives are investigating the domestic-related stabbing death of a woman inside an apartment at 756 Lenore Street in Nashville’s first murder case of 2009. The call was dispatched at 4:18 p.m.
The adult male suspect, whose formal relationship to the victim is not immediately clear, was held at the scene by an adult male witness until patrol officers arrived. A seven-year-old girl was also present in the apartment. The parties recently immigrated to Nashville from Burundi in Africa. Only the child speaks any English.
The investigation is continuing.
