Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 119 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 24 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Hickory View Drive, Moore Avenue, Swiss Avenue, 2nd Avenue, and Harding Place. Seized were 18 grams of cocaine, seven grams of marijuana, and three weapons.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, 6th Avenue South, Stewarts Ferry Pike, Robertson Street, Crosswood Drive, and Gailwood Lane. Seized were 19 grams of cocaine and seven grams of marijuana.

West Precinct detectives charged 23 persons as the result of investigations on Wade Avenue, 52nd Avenue North at Charlotte Pike, 37th Avenue North at Park Avenue, 17th Avenue North at Patterson Street, 25th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue, the 6500 block of Premier Drive, Jefferson Street at 21st Avenue North, the 4200 block of Waterford Circle, and 35th Avenue North at Felicia Street. Seized were over six pounds of marijuana, 22 grams of cocaine, 1,149 Lortab pills, and 50 ecstasy pills.

North Precinct detectives charged 27 persons as the result of investigations on Dickerson Pike, Clay Street, Underwood Street, Brick Church Pike, Dowlan Street, Clarksville Pike, Gallatin Pike, and Osage Street. Seized were 157.7 grams of cocaine, 62 grams of marijuana, six various pills, two vehicles, and $1,159 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged seven persons as the result of investigations on Davis Street, Dickerson Pike, Old Hickory Boulevard, McFerrin Avenue, Trinity Lane, and Ellington Parkway. Seized were 1.4 pounds of marijuana, 81.7 grams of cocaine, and $3,648 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on 8th Avenue South at Drexel Street, Rosa Parks Boulevard and 11th Avenue North at Jefferson Street, the 300 block of 4th Avenue South, and the 2400 block of Lloyd Avenue. Seized were 32 grams of cocaine, ten various pills, and $3,125 cash.

          Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
