
East Precinct Flex Officer Scott Henderson this afternoon arrested Tadarl Burroughs, 28, at his grandmother’s home on Dickerson Pike. Warrants were issued for Burroughs after his five-year-old nephew brought baggies of cocaine and marijuana to Tom Joy Elementary School Monday morning.
Burroughs shared an apartment in the 500 block of Joseph Avenue with his sister Arthea Burroughs, 27. The child told police he had taken the drugs from his mother’s dresser drawer. Seized in a subsequent search of the apartment were 1.5 grams of marijuana. Arthea Burroughs was arrested shortly after the school incident.
She and Tadarl Burroughs are each charged with felony cocaine possession, unlawful marijuana possession, and reckless endangerment. She remains jailed in lieu of $12,000 bond.
Tadarl Burroughs is jailed on $85,000 bond. He has past convictions for drug offenses and unlawful weapon possession.
