The man killed in Saturday afternoon’s motorcycle-SUV collision at 6978 Clarksville Pike is identified as Richard Owens, 56, of Joelton, Tennessee.
Owens was riding a Honda motorcycle on Clarksville Pike at 12:45 p.m. when he collided with a 2004 GMC Envoy driven by Veda Hill, 40, also of Joelton. Hill was turning into her driveway when the motorcycle struck the SUV’s passenger side door. Witnesses report Owens was traveling at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle exploded upon impact. Owens died at the scene. Hill was not injured.
Owens' excessive speed appears to be the contributing factor to this fatal accident.
