North Precinct detectives have identified Calvin A. Taylor as the man suspected of last Saturday night’s shooting death of 17-year-old Allaric Javon Buckner in the courtyard of Millennium Apartments on Seifried Street.
Detectives believe that Taylor, 20, pulled a gun on Buckner and his 16-year-old friend, demanded their money, and ordered both teens to disrobe. During the robbery, Buckner was shot in the face. The 16-year-old was able to run to safety.
During the investigation, headed by Detective Cody O’Quinn, Taylor’s name surfaced as the potential gunman. Witnesses subsequently identified Taylor from a photo lineup at the man responsible for Buckner’s murder.
Arrest warrants have been issued charging Taylor with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, especially aggravated robbery, and aggravated robbery.
Anyone seeing Taylor, who is last known to have lived on Herman Street, or knowing his whereabouts is urged to immediately contact the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Taylor is considered to be armed and dangerous.
