The man shot to death at 3:35 a.m. today in Hadley Park is identified as Anton S. Irvin, 23, of Clearlake Drive.

Surveillance video shows Irvin, in his van, follow an older model Chevrolet Lumina into the park. About three minutes later, the Lumina, which has a very loud engine, fled the park with its lights off. Witnesses who heard the gunshots called police. Officers found Irvin outside his van with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Irvin’s criminal history reflects convictions on charges of cocaine possession for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
