Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 86 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Bart Drive, Factory Street, and Tusculum Road. Seized were 22.1 grams of cocaine, 1.75 pounds of marijuana, one vehicle, and $1,025 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged seven persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Lafayette Street, Parris Avenue, Lincoln Street, Lewis Street, 5th Avenue South, and Royal Parkway. Seized were one kilo of crystal methamphetamine, five grams of marijuana, and four grams of cocaine.

West Precinct detectives charged 26 persons as the result of investigations in the 6700 block of Cabot Drive, 15th Avenue North at Charlotte Avenue, 25th Avenue North at Merry Street, and Post Road at White Bridge Road. Seized were 30 pounds of marijuana, five ounces of cocaine, five grams of heroin, and nine Lortab pills.

North Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Heiman Street, Wheless Street, Neelys Bend Road, 39th Avenue North, Cindy Place, Old Hickory Boulevard, Trinity Lane, 44th Avenue North, Circle Drive, and Gallatin Pike. Seized were 1.1 pounds of cocaine, 12.5 grams of marijuana, two weapons, two vehicles, and $661 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged three persons as the result of investigations on Brick Church Pike, Lewis Street, and Lafayette Street.

Central Precinct detectives charged 13 persons as the result of investigations on Ewing Avenue, Oak Street, 4th Avenue South, Carroll Street, 6th Avenue South at Broadway, and 9th Avenue South at Gleaves Street. Seized were 3,000 dosage units of anabolic steroids and two grams of cocaine.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
