
Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 88 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Valley View Drive, Robert Yoest Drive, and Hickory Hollow Parkway. Seized were 5.2 ounces of methamphetamine, 14.2 grams of cocaine, six ounces of marijuana, six vials of anabolic steroids, 220 steroid pills, 145 various pills, 18 weapons, one vehicle, and $24,032 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged ten persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Lewis Street, and Lebanon Pike. Seized were six grams of marijuana and two grams of cocaine.
West Precinct detectives charged 22 persons as the result of investigations on Fairfax Avenue, 26th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue, West Kirkwood Avenue at Halcyon Avenue, and 25th Avenue North at Merry Street. Seized were 228 marijuana plants, 7.5 pounds of marijuana, 52.6 grams of cocaine, 1.1 grams of heroin, and one vehicle.
North Precinct detectives charged 21 persons as the result of investigations on East Webster Street, 40th Avenue North, Clifton Avenue, Ewing Lane, Buchanan Street, Osage Street, Kings Lane, Clarksville Pike, McAlpine Avenue, and Brinkhaven Avenue. Seized were 2.9 ounces of cocaine, 14 grams of marijuana, two weapons, and $801 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged seven persons as the result of investigations on Vernon Winfrey Avenue at Lischey Avenue, the 300 block of Cleveland Street, the 700 block of Stockell Street, the 800 block of North 2nd Street, and the 300 block of Edith Avenue. Seized were 253.3 grams of cocaine, four grams of marijuana, one Ecstasy pill, one vehicle, and $1,324 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged nine persons as the result of investigations on 6th Avenue South at Ewing Avenue, North 1st Street at Oldham Street, 8th Avenue South at Drexel Street, 9th Avenue South at Gleaves Street. Seized were 19 various pills.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
