An ex-con, who has been arrested 25 times for 59 offenses since 1992, is back behind bars after officers attempted to stop him early this morning for careless driving on Cleveland Street at North 5th Street.
Jarvis Pierce, 34, of Glengarry Drive, was weaving in and out of his lane. He refused to stop for officers and bailed from his Cadillac just after midnight. As he fled on foot, he threw cocaine and Xanax packaged for resale on the ground. He was taken into custody after a brief chase.
Pierce is charged with felony drug possession, evading arrest, and driving on a revoked license. He is being held in lieu of $44,000 bond. His arrest history reflects convictions for felony drug possession, unlawful weapon possession, assault, theft, and evading arrest.
