A convicted felon, accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint Monday afternoon, is in custody.

Randy Shatto, 27, contacted North Precinct detectives today and said he wanted to surrender. He was picked up this afternoon in Houston County at a relative’s house.

Shatto was positively identified by the victim as the man who posed as a police officer to gain entry into her apartment in the 900 block of Old Hickory Boulevard. She complied with Shatto’s robbery demands after he threatened her five-year-old daughter.

Shatto is being charged with aggravated robbery, criminal impersonation, felon in possession of a handgun, and aggravated assault. Shatto was convicted of felony cocaine possession last year. He also has convictions for marijuana and unlawful weapon possession.
