Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 98 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Harding Place, and 1st Avenue South. Seized were six grams of cocaine, 117 grams of marijuana, and 86 various pills.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 12 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Lewis Street, Donelson Pike, Robertson Avenue, 5th Avenue South, 6th Avenue South, and Country Hill Road. Seized were one gram of cocaine, five grams of marijuana, and various pills.

West Precinct detectives charged 25 persons as the result of investigations on Herman Street, the 2500 block of Clifton Avenue, the 1400 block of 12th Avenue South, and the 1800 block of Jefferson Street. Seized were 11.15 pounds of marijuana, 27 ounces of cocaine, five grams of heroin, one vehicle, and $1,450 cash.

North Precinct detectives charged 21 persons as the result of investigations on Boyd Drive, 17th and 22nd Avenues North, Nolensville Pike, Underwood Street, and 40th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue. Seized were 45.2 grams of cocaine, 30 pounds of marijuana, two vehicles, one weapon, and $31,675 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged two persons as the result of investigations in the 2500 block of Allenwood Drive and the 3100 block of Moorewood Drive. Seized were 5.4 grams of cocaine, .5 grams of heroin, one weapon, and $5,118 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged 21 persons as the result of investigations on 8th Avenue South at Drexel, Lafayette, and Gleaves Streets, Division Street, Rosa L. Parks Boulevard at Jefferson Street, 6th Avenue South at Oak Street, North 1st Street at Oldham and Spring Streets, and Cowan Street. Seized were 271 grams of cocaine and two grams of marijuana.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
