Outstanding police work by a Drug Interdiction officer led to today’s seizure of 71.8 pounds of marijuana from a rental car on I-40 in West Nashville.
The officer stopped a Pontiac Torrent on I-40 east near Charlotte Pike for following another vehicle too closely at 9:45 a.m. The Pontiac’s driver, Arcarlos Barbour, 27, of Louisville, Kentucky, surrendered a small bag of marijuana to the officer. Police dog Raven then sniffed the car and alerted to the presence of a drug odor. A subsequent search of the Pontiac resulted in the discovery of four bundles of marijuana hidden in a toy box in the trunk.
Barbour and his passenger, Anthony Fenwick, 44, of Louisville, Kentucky, are both charged with possession of marijuana for resale. Bond for both is set at $100,000.
