FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 14, 2007

Outstanding investigative work by South Precinct detectives and officers led to the arrest of a man suspected in more than 25 residential burglaries. In most of the burglaries, the suspect would enter an apartment through a rear window and steal jewelry, cash, electronics, and other valuables.

Monday morning police responded to a burglary in progress on Arbor Crest Boulevard. The victim discovered a man in her apartment. She screamed and he ran out a door.

Officers quickly located Bryan Cadfeb Gomez, 22, of Bell Road. He had stolen jewelry in his pocket. Gomez is linked to the following break-ins:

Gomez is currently charged with five counts of aggravated burglary and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond. A federal immigration hold has also been placed on Gomez because he is suspected of illegally entering the United States.
