Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 120 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 37 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Lester Avenue, Wallace Road, Moore Avenue, Shepherd Street, Currey Road, and Briley Parkway. Seized were 23 grams of cocaine, 46.25 pounds of marijuana, one weapon, one vehicle, and $4,121 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 22 persons as the result of investigations in the 3600 block of Westbrook Avenue, the 1400 block of Ireland Street, South 14th Street at Woodland Street, Jefferson Street at 12th Avenue North, the 3400 block of Gallatin Pike, Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard at Jo Johnston Avenue, Robertson Avenue at Croley Drive, and 12th Avenue South at Wedgewood Avenue. Seized were 66 grams of cocaine, seven pounds of marijuana, seven grams of crystal methamphetamine, one vehicle, and $2,727 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 16 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Millwood Drive, Lebanon Pike, Bell Road, 5th Avenue South, Spence Lane, and Nance Lane. Seized were four ounces of marijuana and nine grams of cocaine.
North Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on Meadow Road, Conviser Drive, Batavia Street, 35th Avenue North, Clifton Avenue, Brick Church Pike, Trinity Lane, Geneva Circle, Welworth Street, Nolensville Pike, and Anderson Lane. Seized were 11.7 ounces of cocaine, 52.5 grams of marijuana, 14 various pills, four weapons, two vehicles, and $33,223 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged 24 persons as the result of investigations in the 200 block of Lucile Street, the 300 block of Grace Street, the 1900 block of Avalon Drive, North 9th Street at Ramsey Street, Davidson Street at South 5th Street, Sylvan Street at South 5th Street, and Gallatin Avenue at Ordway Place. Seized were 51.5 grams of cocaine, 99.5 grams of marijuana, .1 gram Heroin, 20 Dilaudid pills, 51 Xanax pills, four Soma pills, two Lortab pills, 23 various prescription pills, and $4,479 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged two persons as the result of their investigations. Seized were three grams of cocaine, six grams of marijuana, seven grams of mushrooms, 12 Xanax pills, five Vicodin pills, one weapon, and $1,434 cash.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
