Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 96 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 18 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Shepard Street, Tampa Drive, Wallace Road, and Parris Avenue. Seized were 30 grams of cocaine, six grams of marijuana, and two weapons.

West Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations in the 6300 block of Charlotte Pike, the 6400 block of Cockrill Bend Court, the 1600 block of Patterson Street, the 7000 block of Huntington Parkway, 13th Avenue South at South Street, and 12th Avenue South at Summitt Avenue. Seized were 40 grams of cocaine, 466 grams of marijuana, two weapons, one vehicle, and $280 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Millwood Drive, 4th Avenue South, and Lewis Street. Seized were 17 grams of marijuana.

North Precinct detectives charged 22 persons as the result of investigations on Randy Road, Brick Church Pike, Trinity Lane, Hampton Street, 17th Avenue North, 40th Avenue North, Indiana Avenue, Gallatin Pike, Due West Avenue, Baxter Avenue, County Hospital Road, Cocoa Drive, and Meadow Road. Seized were 3.2 ounces of cocaine, 2.4 ounces of marijuana, nine various pills, two weapons, four vehicles, and $2,909 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Petway Avenue, North 14th Street at Sharpe Avenue, Trinity Lane at Brick Church Pike, the 3800 block of Saunders Avenue, the Dickerson Pike area, and Gallatin Pike at Greenfield Avenue. Seized were 63.5 grams of cocaine, 16 grams of marijuana, 1 ½ Dilaudid pills, 60 Hydrocodone and Lortab pills, one weapon, and $773 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged three persons as the result of investigations on 11th Avenue North at Meharry Boulevard, and 8th Avenue South at Drexel Street. Seized were 29.5 grams of cocaine, one vehicle, and $750 cash.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
