The five teenagers charged with the March 11 shooting death of Jose Flores on Joseph Avenue today saw the homicide and robbery charges against them transferred from Juvenile to Criminal (adult) Court.

Flores, 30, and his family members were outside barbecuing when several armed teenagers wearing coverings over their faces appeared and ordered everyone into the house. They demanded money and car keys. As the suspects fled, one of them fired a shot from the back yard. The bullet struck Flores in the back.

Chris Northern, who was 17 at the time of the murder, and Terrence Simpson, 16, today were ordered held in lieu of $245,000 bond each. Chrisantoney Woods and William Sawyers, both 16, and Antwan Whitehead, 15, were ordered held in lieu of $220,000 bond each pending action in the adult court system.
