Youth Services detectives have determined that today’s reported attempted abduction of an eight-year-old 3rd grader from Granberry Elementary School in South Nashville is unfounded.
The student reported that a stranger confronted him in a school restroom, pulled him outside through a side door, pushed him to the ground, and ran away. The student was found by a teacher crying outside the locked door at 9 a.m.
During the investigation, detectives located and interviewed a school staff member who checked the inside and outside areas around the side door and restroom at 8 a.m. She did not see the eight-year-old or any strange man. Based on the student’s account, the staff member would had to have seen the stranger or heard something unusual.
