A pedestrian was fatally injured Tuesday night when she was struck by a car on Old Hickory Boulevard near Hickory Trace Drive. The unidentified woman was transported to Southern Hills Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Michael Buckley, 56, of Nashville, reported that he did not see the woman as he was driving his 2000 Volvo sedan westbound on Old Hickory Boulevard at 11:40 p.m. There was no evidence Buckley was impaired and charges are not expected to be filed against him.

The woman had purchased beer at a nearby convenience store. It is unknown if she was intoxicated. Witnesses say the woman was walking very slowly across the street in an area without crosswalks or street lights. She was not carrying any identification. The Medical Examiner’s office is attempting to determine the woman’s identity.

She appeared to be white or Hispanic, age 35 to 45 years old, and approximately 5’6” tall, with a heavy build.

Anyone with information concerning the woman’s identity is asked to call Traffic Section investigators at 862-7738.
