FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 4, 2007

Youth Services detectives are asking for the community’s assistance in locating Marcellous Leon Lindsley, who is named in a first-degree murder indictment for the October 2006 death of his 16-month-old son.

Lindsley, 25, also faces charges of aggravated child abuse, aggravated child neglect, and felony probation violation.

Lindsley’s son, Jaqurius Mitchell, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Southern Hills Medical Center in the early morning hours of October 27, 2006. A subsequent autopsy showed that the child died of internal abdominal injuries that were caused by abuse.

Jaqurius was transported to the hospital by ambulance from Lindsley’s home in the 800 block of Dover Glen Drive. Lindsley’s girlfriend called 911 to report that Jaqurius was sick and that Lindsley was attempting CPR.

The investigation by the police department’s Youth Services Division led to last month’s indictment of Lindsley. Efforts to locate him over the past few weeks have been unsuccessful.

Anyone seeing Marcellous Lindsley or knowing his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME or the Youth Services Division at 862-7417.
