Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 95 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
East Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street at Hancock Street, South 6th Street at Russell Street, South 5th Street at Russell Street, South 6th Street at Shelby Avenue, 1200 Montgomery Avenue, 850 South 6th Street, Briley Parkway at Gallatin Pike, Dickerson Pike at Gatewood Avenue, Grace Street at North 2nd Street, and Sultana Avenue at Queen Avenue. Seized were 228.8 grams of marijuana, three guns, and six Xanax pills.
South Precinct detectives charged 12 persons as the result of investigations on Thomas Street, Fesslers Lane, Murfreesboro Road, Garrett Drive, Morton Avenue and Wallace Road. Seized was marijuana weighing 55 grams.
West Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations at 920 Blank Street, 17th Avenue North at Underwood Street, Merry Street, 6100 Pennsylvania Avenue, 14th Avenue North at Ireland Street, and 16th Avenue North at Jo Johnston Avenue. Seized were 86.8 grams of crack cocaine, three ounces of marijuana, 80 Loritab pills, one vehicle, one weapon, and $1455.00 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 13 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, University Court, and Old Hickory Boulevard. Seized were 10 grams of cocaine, 50 pounds of Khat, and one weapon.
North Precinct detectives charged 22 persons as the result of investigations on Whites Creek Pike, Forrest Park Road, Maple Street, Due West Avenue, Brinkhaven Drive, Jefferson Street, Trinity Lane, and 40th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue. Seized were 7.8 grams of cocaine, 134.4 grams of marijuana, 19 assorted pills, two guns, two vehicles, and $548.00 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on 2nd Avenue South at Lafayette Street, Jefferson Street, and North 1st Street at Oldham Street. Seized were 24 grams of crack cocaine, eight grams of marijuana, two weapons, one vehicle, and $683.00 cash.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
