FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 7, 2007

A man severely beaten early today at the Super 8 Motel, 350 Harding Place, died of his injuries shortly after arriving at Southern Hills Medical Center. The victim is identified as William Anthony Hall, 25, of Parishwood Court.

Police were called to the motel at 5:20 a.m. Officers found Hall and Taylor Lee Graves, 25, of Whispering Wind Drive in Lavergne, lying in the second floor hallway. Graves had also been severely beaten. He, too, was taken to Southern Hills Medical Center and is expected to survive.

The investigation to this point indicates that Hall and Taylor were visiting a friend at the motel and asked persons in the hallway to keep the noise down. A fight then broke out resulting in the victims’ injuries.

Witnesses at the motel reported that those involved in the fight may be of Kurdish descent. The investigation by South Precinct detectives is continuing.
